The aims of Craig Dubh Mountaineering are:
To provide quality, year round guiding in and around the Scottish Mountains
To provide educational skills courses which equip clients with relevant tools and experience to operate independently in the Scottish Mountains throughout the year.
To improve clients’ environmental, geographical, cultural and historical awareness of the areas we explore and Scotland as a whole.
To provide a one-stop-shop service incorporating pre-course guidance and information, a qualified guide, relevant equipment and any other additional resources which may be required for each outing and course.
Craig Dubh Mountaineering provides bespoke quality guiding and skills courses in the Scottish Highlands, specialising in ascents of Ben Nevis. We are an independently run business which has each of our clients interests at heart. We pride ourselves in tailoring each day, course and trip to your exact specifications to ensure that your experience exceeds your expectations!
Whether you are an individual who wishes to broaden your hillwalking skills, a group of friends who want to experience the mountain landscape in the grip of a full Scottish Winter, or a corporate organisation looking for a challenging yet rewarding activity for your staff to engage in, Craig Dubh Mountaineering can help.
Our guides are all highly experienced and qualified, having spent many years in and around the mountains here in Scotland. More importantly, however, they are passionate about what they do. They take pride in their intimate knowledge of the mountain environment, and gain great pleasure from passing on this experience and knowledge to clients of all ages and abilities.
So please take your time to look through what we offer, and if you do not see a date or course in our Set Course Menu, feel free to contact us to arrange a date which suits you and your needs better.
We look forward to hearing from you!
We are priviledged to find ourselves based in Ballachulish, near Fort William, on the stunning West Coast of Scotland. This excellently placed little village is a stones throw from the foot of Ben Nevis, the UK's highest and most popular mountain. We are only minutes from the iconic and atmospheric Glen Coe, scene of the renowned massacre in 1692, and 90 minutes from the Cairngorm National Park, the Isle of Skye and the tremendously diverse Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park. Being near Fort William means, quite literally, that we are in the Outdoor Capital of the UK, with world class climbing, hillwalking, mountain biking, skiing and watersports - not to mention the rich history that resides under every footstep and on every hillside! There is an abundance of accomodation to suit every budget, from hostels to B & B's, to caravans, camp sites and 5 star hotels. Please have a look at our Accomodation & Transport page for further information, including directions on how to find us.
We think ourselves very lucky to be based in such a dramatic and inspiring location, and are sure that you will fall in love with the area too.
