No matter how great or small the challenge you set yourself in the mountains, it is crucial that you go well equipped. By owning and knowing how to use the essential items you are greatly reducing the chances of getting into a tricky spot! Follow the links below to download general kit lists for Summer and Winter walking. If you are unsure about any of the kit listed, please contact me for advice.

In the Summer it is possible to travel reasonably lightly, but the bare essentials are just that - essential! The list provided gives a description of each item and a few of my own personal recommendation. Remember, it doesn't have to cost the earth, and many items can be picked up quite cheaply from Outdoor Retailers and Army Surplus Stores.
In the Winter there are several additional considerations to think about when kitting up for a day in the mountains. Keeping warm is an obvious example, but the cold and moisture often makes people forget the additional weight and exerted effort makes us even more dehydrated.
Some additional personal kit is required for the Skills Courses, although I will provide any hardwear required for rock sessions. A harness, helmet and rock shoes plus some outdoor clothing is all you need to bring, plus a camera to capture everything you learn!
