CRAIG DUBH MOUNTAINEERING PARTICIPATION STATEMENT
Craig Dubh Mountaineering recognises that climbing and mountaineering are activities with a danger of personal injury or death. Participants in these activities should be aware of and accept these risks and be responsible for their own actions.
BOOKING & PAYMENTS
Please contact me to discuss your needs and itinerary so that I can give you, the client, what you really want. All Skills Courses and Guided Days are bespoke and in my experience people get a lot more from a course when they help to design it. Once we have agreed to a date and itinerary I can then take your booking.
Upon booking a Guided Day, Skills Course or any other Service you are required to pay a deposit (£50 if course cost is under £200, £100 if course cost is over £200). This can be made using PayPal or a standard cheque (via Post). The Booking will not be confirmed until payment of this Deposit is made and cleared.
The remaining sum will then be due no later than 21 days prior to the course start date. If you wish to pay by cheque please ensure this reaches us in time to clear before the above time frame.
INSURANCE & SAFETY
I strongly recommend that you obtain Personal Insurance prior to the start of the day/course. If you are a member of the Mountaineering Council of Scotland this is included in your membership. If you are a Member of the BMC they also provide insurance, please contact them for more information.
Participants should ensure that they are fit enough to undertake their relevant course. Walking in the mountains, particularly in Winter, can be arduous and hard work. It is not a race to the summit by any standards, but being fit and capable increases your chances of success and allows you to enjoy the journey more. You must ensure you inform us of any medical conditions prior to heading out using the Client Information Form. Please contact me if you are concerned about this.
There is no guarantee that we will reach the summit of any given mountain. Safety is paramount and any objectives will be overridden should safety be jeopardised.
Any person partaking in a Guided Day or Skills Course should be aware that mountain sports are potentialy hazardous and will have a certain element of risk.
Participants are responsible for bringing their own food, drink and kit, as listed in the Kit List. Failure to do so, or turning up poorly equipped or under the influence of alcohol or drugs could lead to cancellation of the course, in which case the course fee is Non-Refundable. Craig Dubh Mountaineering takes no responsibility for the condition of hired kit which is the clients sole responsibility.
If YOU cancel the day/course for whatever reason:
If More than 21 days before the start date: You will receive all payments made minus your deposit.
If Less than 21 days before the start date: you will receive 50% of the course cost
If Craig Dubh Mountaineering cancels the day/course you will be given a FULL Refund (including Deposit) or given the chance to rearrange a suitable date.
If you wish to re-arrange a course and not cancel outright, no penalty will be incurred so long as I can accomodate the date change.
Please Contact Me if you wish to discuss these Terms & Conditions further, I am happy to help.
